Hi, I’m Anitra Larsen, freelance website developer and self-proclaimed web geek. I love helping people create eye-catching functional custom WordPress websites that reflect the flavor of their business and enlightening them on how easy it can be to manage a WordPress website.

I built my first website in college at Northwestern in 2001 for the City of Alta, Iowa - my hometown. (The City of Alta is still a client.)
I took an 8 year break from website design to be a newspaper editor for the Dickinson County News, a weekly newspaper in the Iowa Great Lakes region. While there, I earned the Young Iowa Journalist Award as well as several honors for column writing, community service and feature writing. Ready for a new adventure, I started Blue Lake Websites in 2010 after a semester of web development courses at Iowa Lakes Community College (also now a client). I discovered WordPress later that year and decided it was going to be my niche.
Since 2010, I've built over 300 WordPress websites for small businesses, organizations and municipalities. I love learning new things, and I'm continually working on my skills to bring the best service possible to my clients.
When I'm not building websites, you can find me:
